Trauffer - Classic wooden animals handmade in Switzerland

Trauffer classic wooden animals have been handcrafted with love and care in Switzerland for over 80 years. Today the extensive range of animals, trees and people are still handmade, high quality and sustainable.

Whilst the company has become a modern toy manufacturer which meets quality standards for toy safety, the old values remain: traditional craftsmanship, uniqueness and the use of Swiss wood. Every single piece is cut, sanded and then lovingly painted by 31 workers by hand. Each animal has its own uniqueness, making them special in their own right.

Trauffer wooden toys are designed and made in Switzerland from 100% FSC-certified Swiss wood. In order to be allowed to have the FSC certificate, an FSC audit is carried out every year, during which all documents are precisely checked. The review is carried out by the SQS (Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems). Only child safe natural colours and water-based paints are used. And also for the environment, CO2 emissions are greatly reduced with the use of only regional wood (reducing transport volume), and using air drying methods for the wood.
